WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} will please express his views on this point.

As regards R's suggestion, this was possibly made without consideration of the various factors surrounding the position. It has been xx endeavoured to set them down in this statement.

I am of opinion that the 'India' chassis without FWB should be issued to the public (with the promise and intention of fitting FWB later) until such time as the chassis can be issued with FWB.

During the period between the commencement of deliveries of the first-named (22 May) and the commencement of the deliveries of the last-named, 7 July, (6 weeks), Works might deliver to Sales 60 chassis.

If the 7th July becomes the 7th August the 60 might be increased to 100 or more.

If we cannot get the £50 (for subsequent fitting of FWB) out of the purchasers, it would be well worth while to sacrifice this sum rather than face the delay.

CJ.
