Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. to BJ. R.{Sir Henry Royce} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X7380 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M27.3.28. EAC.14 - FORWARD BODY SUPPORT. X.7530 X.7580 X.7410 We note that the 50 lbs. spring was too weak and that the body lifted too vigorously from its support. It will be appreciated that we wish the body to leave the chassis frame on one side when there is frame distortion sufficient to cause serious damage to the body. We would like you to fit up the Barker car with large diameter pots and springs such as EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} provided when in Derby, but having springs which will give a load of 100 lbs. under normal conditions. We have normally used 100 lbs. springs, but they have been spoiled in dia. and have had too quick a rating. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
