Bailey - Chief Engineer} Sft.{Mr Swift} Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} MP." is crossed out] Bentley Floorboards. -------------------- We have proposed that the Bentley floorboards might be made out of sheet metal pressings in Aluminium, and we think the best way to do this would be to make up a set by hand. They would require a certain amount of corrugating to prevent drumming, and also to stiffen up the flat surfaces. The advantages we expect to gain are, saving in weight and considerable improvement of the clearances in the various tight places between the floorboards and the power unit. This would require no call for design work at the moment as the pressings could be worked out using the present boards as models.
