re: CYCLE TYPE WING STAYS -
BENTLEY.
--------------------

I have been examining the Lagonda, which has cycle type front wings. There appeared to be three stays forming a sort of tripod and I am wondering whether our design for the wing stays on the Bentley will be adequate. The purpose of this tripod, (so I understand) is to prevent the transverse vibration at the top of the wing. This on our scheme is only controlled by the stays in bending.

On looking at the design of our front axle I can see no place where we could get a base for fixing the middle stay to the stub axle not in the same plane as the fixings for the other two.

As soon as we get the chassis fitted with the new stub axles and the wings mounted, we are going out on the road, when we shall be able to tell you much more about it.
