To En. from EH. [crossed out] X.3424 X.3540 EH3/LG17.10.19. With reference to the black finish on Steering Column Controls. We suggest (it was your suggestion originally) that we might get in touch with people like the Silvertown Rubber Company and get their opinion as to whether they could fix a thin coat of ebonite or a similar material to what they put on our steering wheels. One can see that the switch knob could be made entirely of that material with a bush let in on which is formed the notches for the switch. The mixture control quadrant does not appear to present any great difficulty to the process. I should think the most satisfactory way of seeing what they can do, would be to send someone with the parts in question to visit them and explain to them exactly what we require. EH. | ||
