Consumption Tests These tests were rather upsetting more mileage was got than when using petrol. this was with four persons in the Car. The engine would appear to be giving out at approx 4 miles, but with mixture put over strong would continue to run much longer than one would expect. The results of the tests shows this. PYNOL PETROL mean distance travelled both way of road: 4.675 3.9 3.8 3.6 average time: 12.258 7.78 9.958 6.708 average con. miles gall.: 18.7 15.6 15.2 14.4 average speed: 22.3 30 22.9 32.2 Detonations These were not satisfactorily. We could not obtain detonations with petrol on this day due to its very cold weather. We should not like to recommend this spirit until a cleaner exhaust is obtained, more advance of ignition made possible, Car will not accelerate with half advance position and more heat applied to Carburetter.
