Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}16/ML.12.1.34. We notice that the inefficiency of the front brakes on Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s car was due to oil leaking from the lower pivot flange. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} tells us that this trouble has only been found on 2 or 3 out of the 1300 Phantom II cars that have been sold. Although we have had this trouble on Bentley Chassis we are of the opinion that the design on the 40/50 is not in any way at fault, but that the very rare cases of oil leaks are due to bad fitting.
