Dear Geoffrey,

Many thanks for your letter of the 3rd inst.

We accept your criticisms, though honestly I can say that in all the miles I have done with the Bentley I have never run into the trouble of which you complain. My running includes some of the most distressing American conditions imaginable.

We will have a go and see what we can do to fix up a water-proof system, and if we standardise anything will let you know.

I hope to be able to bring a Phantom III over before very long to try on your new road. I was interested to note that Dick is now driving a car with rubber steering, he seems willing to put up with more from the S.S. people than he would tolerate if your humble servant had anything to do with the motor car !

One of the 4¼'s, privately owned, is running at Le Mans on June 13th, so that if you can call in there on your way to the Austrian Tyrol, you can observe it perform.

Yours sincerely,
