Dear Bill, I have been meaning to write to you for some time. I have a new set of shock absorbers on the Jaguar, which greatly increase the stability and the comfort. I have also found that the steering box is not mounted on rubber, and the movement we saw on mine was due to the fact that it had not been tightened up. This coupled with the fact that there was no toe-in on the front wheels, no doubt, was responsible for the instability of the steering. I gather my Bentley will be ready in about 10 days time. Neville and his brother have got theirs. When my car arrives would you like to have the Jaguar for a few days, or are Messrs.Rolls Royce thinking of purchasing one for themselves? My Uncle placed an order some time ago for a 25 Rolls Royce, the chassis being promised for the middle of March. He has still not got it, and has been told the delay is due to the fact that the car is receiving mechanical alterations. I suppose this means that it will arrive with a 4 1/4 litre engine. Is there nothing you could do to hurry up his chassis for him? It has been ordered through Messrs.Herbert Robinson Limited of Cambridge. | ||
