W.A. Robotham, Esq.,
Rolls-Royce, Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Robotham,

I am getting together data for an article on the use of light alloys in car construction and I am proposing to cite the Phantom III engine as an example thereof. Can you possibly give me some idea of the weight of finished aluminium components in the engine and also the total weight.

It seems a long time since I was at Derby last and I hope I shall be able to get up fairly soon and do another exclusively Rolls-cum-Bentley story on the problems of silent running, which we discussed.

Hope you keep well,

Kind regards,

Sincerely yours,
Laurence Pomeroy
TECHNICAL EDITOR.
