engine speed, in an endeavour to provide a certain amount of centrifugal cleaning for the oil before it passes to our bearings. Whether our scheme will have any real success remains to be seen, but we can assure you that we appreciate the value of clean oil.

For our initial main bearing tests, however, no special attempt will be made to obtain a really clean engine, for we would prefer to see the results of tests carried out under what might be called average conditions for commercial vehicles, rather than ideal test stand conditions. We will advise you later of the results which we obtain from the tests on these main bearings.

For your records we are forwarding two further photographs showing the condition of the big end bearings when stripped after 310 hours running.

Thanking you for the help which you have given us in connection with these tests,

We are,

Yours faithfully,
DENNIS BROTHERS LIMITED.
