New six-cylinder engines. We expect to have all the castings for cylinders "and" "top half crankcases" completed within the next six weeks. The first size (3 3/4) is being cast this week. A little more pattern work is then necessary prior to casting the next size, and so on. The next thing required for the above are cylinder heads to suit [strikethrough]; and these are not yet out of the D.O. We also are still short of the drawing for the 3 3/4 piston. Re. Lighter pistons; we have a set ready for test, which are almost as light as the original 3.28 Bentley; but they are 3.28 bore. Re. Lighter gudgeon pins; unfortunately, we invented a new gudgeon pin, as well as reducing its weight, which Light Production Co. are unable to produce. We are awaiting a re-issue of the lighter pin from the D.O. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/C.T.S. | ||
