Dear Sirs,

Mr. WEST.

After having had one of your Continental Touring Saloon demonstration models last week-end, I suggested to Conduit St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} that the lighting set hardly did credit to the car: and so Mr. Cox has asked me to put you in touch with the inventor of a new type of reflector which - in my own experience - not only gives a much better light with a lower c.p. bulb, but also eliminates dazzle in rather a remarkable way. For instance: my experience is that on meeting my headlamps focussed ahead the drivers of commercial vehicles and motor coaches dip. However, you will want to experiment on your own lines, and so I have to advise you that the inventor -- Mr. Edwin Jones of 18 Newington, Liverpool -- would be delighted to come to Derby (I have just arranged this by telephone a few minutes ago) next Monday or Tuesday the 28th. or 29th. Jany. to show you the device fitted to his own car, and to fit the same device to any of your own cars or lamps, for experimental purposes. Mr. Jones would arrive about mid-day, if that would be convenient for you. Perhaps you will get into touch with Mr. Jones, or if you wish I can pass on to him any appointment details which you may care to send to me. I need hardly add that I have no interest whatever in this invention, except as a satisfied user who would like to see it adopted by manufacturers such as your goodselves.

Yours faithfully

W A GIBSON MARTIN
