( 3 ) E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HP.26.2.35. (11) Bonnet side strips. - Altogether three pairs of bonnet side strips were made. The first set was made like the first car, and was found to be no use because the side valence at the rear was not long enough to connect up to the wing. This was corrected on the second pair and then it was found the side strip at the front end was not high enough to suit the wings because these had been raised at this point very considerably, and we have no record of the alteration. (12) The use of the ventilated dash makes the fitting of the Klaxon windscreen wiper motor and its bracket rather difficult. If the motor is mounted in its usual position the flexible drive passes through the dashboard outlet scoop, and an alternative position has to be found for it. (13) The Experimental Shop experienced very considerable difficulty in erecting and dismantling the bonnet side strips from the chassis. This point was we believe raised when the first SpectreCodename for Phantom III was made. It is necessary to look into this design with a view to improving this difficult position. Would you kindly look into all the above points so that we can prevent them recurring when the time comes to mount the third and future SpectreCodename for Phantom III bodies. It is thought that quite a useful amount of time could be saved in the mounting of the body if the above points are remedied. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
