Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 16th. inst. regarding the special Experimental Phantom 1 Rear Road Springs for your Sports Chassis No. 23-EX, and enclose herewith a drawing of the springs we suggest. You will observe the approximate weight of Spring Mark A. {Mr Adams} would be 78 lbs, and Mark (B) (alternative design) 85 lbs. We could only get the weight down to 65 lbs by employing fewer plates, which in our opinion would not make it satisfactory in operation. If you will let us know by telephone tomorrow, which of these two designs you wish us to supply, we shall place the work in hand immediately, and can give you delivery of the 2 fronts and 2 rears in 14 days time. We understand from Mr. Robotham this afternoon, that you are willing to accept solid eyes for both front and rear eyes of the rear spring, as a rolled eye with .38" Mainplate would necessitate new dies, and 4 to 6 weeks delivery.
