Intake Bend.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2105 (sheet metal) has proved to be the right shape. Ex.20017 is to be made, which is a cast alym. version of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2105, incorporating suitable drains, and a connection to the air silencer by the same method as the present standard Bentley.

B-18 & B-19 Units.

As these engines are so urgently required, it may be impossible to collect the parts together, as laid down above, into a complete induction system, before either one or both of the units go to France.

In view of this, the two units can be completed by using up existing experimental parts, and replaced by final parts when available. The proposed parts to be temporarily fitted are as follows :-

B-18.

Induction pipe Ex.19384/5.
Intake bend Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2105 (in sheet metal).
Air silencer - present standard production with gauze filter deleted.

B-19.

Induction pipe Ex.19087/8.
Intake bend - Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2105 (in sheet metal).
Air silencer - present standard production, with gauze filter deleted.

Note: These specifications are provisional inasmuch as the parts will be replaced as soon as possible, in line with the present programme of development.
