X719. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}18/KT. Oct. 26th, 1932. Messrs Ferodo Ltd, Sovereign Mills, Chapel-en-Frith. For the attention of Mr. Field. Dear Sirs, Further to your letters of Sept. 13th and Oct. 18th, a point which we are interested in is why the Borg-& Beck people use the VM-20 material for their clutches. Presumably there must be some special merit in it, but we should have thought that the RAD.13 material would have been superior. The RAD.13 material seems to be giving such good results on the servo that we are considering trying it for our car clutches. We should like to know whether you think this material would stand up for a clutch and have the desirable characteristics of a sweet take up. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
