We have made some observations of the bouncing on the rear axle on 49-GB Car. The car was run along a road which was rather high compared with the land on the side. This meant by sitting down by the road-side, one could see right along under the car as it was running along the road. We could very clearly see immediately the wheels jumped clear of the road. The surface of the road was what one would term, bad.

The following observations were made with the car travelling at different speeds and with different loads.

49-GB Car - driver and one passenger. 10 Wheels followed the road the whole time.

49-GB Car - driver and one passenger. 15 Rear wheels jumped 2" clear of the road over worst bumps.

49-GB Car - driver and one passenger. 20. Rear wheels jumped 4" clear of the road.

49-GB - driver and one passenger. 25 Rear wheels jumped 6" clear of the road axle dancing violently - front wheels jumped 2" clear of the road on worst bumps.

49-GB Car - driver and four passengers. 20. There was a distinct improvement with the extra load on the back but the rear wheels jumped clear over the worst bumps.
