Experimental.

18th November, 1938.

Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
Derby.

Dear Sirs,
Attention of Mr. Salt.

Many thanks for your letter of the 17th inst. It is probably true that the reading of my letter to FIAT would convey the impression which you have read into the letter regarding filtration, but I would further point out that the letter was only a confirmation of a lengthy 'phone conversation, and the queries raised as to what might be termed "imbedability" of the material as compared with lead bronze.

I think you will agree that AC.9 is far better in this respect than lead bronze, and the point in the letter was confirming this particular point of view.

Many thanks for pointing out your interpretation of it, which will enable us to guard against such risks in the future, and I will write further to FIAT pointing out the necessity of filtration.

Yours faithfully,

F.{Mr Friese} B. Bullrick
