X4383 -2- Contd. Extract from EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} /T/3.7.24 to Ry/C. X4378 IGNITION COIL.- Round base. We have no information. DYNAMO. - 100% more Commutator Bars. Three machines have been made up with two coil per slot armatures and 57 segment commutators. Of these, dynamo No.161 was fitted to 5-GII on 27.10.23 and has been at W.W. ever since. We are asking W.W. for a report. On the bench test previous to this being fitted to 5-GII, it was considered that the commutation was excellent. Dynamo B has done a certain amount of running on the bench with satisfactory results, but has not been put on a car. Dynamo E similarly fitted has been on 6-GII since 18.1.24. during which time it has run 9693 miles. On the completion of the 10,000 mile test, this will be removed for careful examination and a standardisation sheet may be prepared, if the result is outstandingly better than for the standard commutation. DYNAMO - Annealed commutator bars. Two experimental dynamos, namely M and R3. have been fitted with this item. The first one has to date run 4,938 miles on 7-GII. The result to date is fair but not outstandingly better than standard. The second one has only recently been fitted with an annealed commutator, and is not yet on an experimental chassis. DYNAMO.- Machine turned through 28° to make brushes more accessible. This feature has been instructed to be arranged on dynamo M on 7-GII (with annealed copper comm.), but the change has not yet been made. DISTRIBUTION BOARD. - Lighter field fuse. The position to date as regards this will be gathered from our report EFCL/T2.7.24. DISTRIBUTION BOARD. - Improved connection for fuse wire. We are not clear exactly to what this refers. EFC. {E.
