[Strikethrough]SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}[/Strikethrough] FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Copy to [Strikethrough]BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}[/Strikethrough] Copy to [Strikethrough]G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp}[/Strikethrough] FITTING OF FRONT APRONS TO CARS I agree that an apron at the front is justified, because it also helps to keep the car cleaner. We think Hooper's have done very well to produce something passably good, but I understand it is very similar to Barker's. We are trying to get a better design both in appearance, and completeness, and also more practical. (It should save some of the present work so as to cost little or no more than the present filling.) DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} hopes to have something ready by this week, and it will be shewn to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} when he is here on Wednesday. We should endeavour to include it as part of the chassis. It will be realised that they must be made standard, and in quantity with proper tools, so that the cost will not be great, because it will fall ultimately upon the buyer. The system of making the customer pay extra for this and that is a policy I do not like, because it would ultimately ruin business, and we should take steps to reduce such extra to an absolute minimum - i.e. everything we think right and necessary shouldbe included, as I understand even the low priced cars are sold.
