The Chairman,
Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
Derby.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to tell you how thoroughly dissatisfied I am with my Rolls Phantom III (Chassis 3-AX-143).

I have run this car approximately 7,500 miles, during which it has given me a series of troubles, many of which have been recurrent.

The present troubles are "joggle" of the steering and rattle in the column at certain speeds and a squeaking noise in the rear suspension. Both these troubles are recurrent.

I also return a screwdriver supplied with the tool equipment. This split at the end at the first attempt to turn a screw with it. Obviously very poor material and to my mind typical of the rest of the car.

I have in my possession a screw driver purchased from Woolworth's for 6d. which is satisfactory.

If you make enquiries you will find that the car has been returned twice to Derby for correction of defects and still is not satisfactory. I am absolutely disgusted and do not intend to put up with this trouble.

I am going to dispose of the car as soon as possible and purchase a Lincoln or Packard; perhaps then I shall get a satisfactory proposition.

Yours faithfully,

(Sgd.) Rowland Perkins.

P.S. This is my third Rolls and I am definitely of the opinion that this car is inferior to Phantom II in every respect and it seems to me deplorable that I should have to purchase from America to get a satisfactory car.
