Bellringer - Repair Manager} Re Lubrication of Spring Shackles. -------------------------------- With reference to Brl/H23.11.21 on this matter, we can confirm Br's experience, and as you are aware have already brought this matter to your attention, having found similar trouble on customers' cars which come into our hands for attention. Furthermore, we feel that quite a percentage of the complaints of squeaking springs have been due to the squeaks which emanate from the spring shackles of centre bearing of the spring. You instructed in one or two instances where we had trouble in this respect, notably Rudyard Kipling, that we should fit a set of bearing bushes with a series of longitudinal grooves. You may perhaps think it wise to communicate this information to Br. {T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} as we do not think you will agree to the spiral oil groove which Br. {T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} suggests. EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
