REPORT ON EXAMINATION OF ABOVE CHASSIS
AFTER 10,000 MILES TEST IN FRANCE.

Car returned to Works after Crash.

Frames & Fittings.

Side channels damaged due to accident, distance pieces pulling out on off-side around step iron sections. Near side welded joint failing immediately behind the bottom rear fixing for cruciform member - due to accident. Centre section of box frame in dirty condition, stones, road dirt etc. particularly towards front end. Rear Spring Anchor Bracket covers, badly stone pitted. Locating Washer F.87579 for front engine suspension - rusted - suggest this should be cadmium plated. Cruciform member distorted at front off-side due to accident.

Offside spare wheel carrier and support damaged due to accident.
Offside Rear Stabiliser Bracket damaged due to accident.
Three Step-Irons damaged due to accident.
Stone Guards for rear Shock Damper damaged due to accident.
Stay - 3rd crossmember to frame damaged due to accident.
Offside Bonnet Rest Strip damaged due to accident.
2nd and 3rd crossmember damaged due to accident.
Battery crossmember damaged due to accident.
Gearbox crossmember damaged due to accident.

Wingstays

Damaged due to accident.
Signs of fidgetting on spherical washer for Radiator Support.

Rear Springs & Fittings. (Firths 1,300 lb. type)

General condition good.
Offside main leaf badly bent at rear end due to crash.
Slight wear on tips of all leaves.
Offside spring clip bolts bent due to accident.

Steering Column & Box.

General condition good.
Steering Wheel badly bent due to accident
Pendulum Lever bent. due to accident
Controls damaged. due to accident

Petrol Tank.

Bottom front of tank heavily pitted due to road conditions
Damaged on bottom off-side due to accident
Tank has been soldered in two places due to leaks.
