re Rear Axle Myth.

As requested, we have applied the Salisbury rear axle (7 in. Ring gear) to the Myth chassis. We presume we shall require the 4.88 to 1 ratio.

On PL.30 herewith we shew the scheme we propose. The axle tubes are those of the 1 1/2 litre Jaguar, drawing 3 HA.001.3

The overhang on the wheel bearing is 2.062".

The loads given on the drawing assume a complete car weight of 23 cwts. and an engine of 2.0 litres, assuming that we shall wish to adhere to the original project of building a "myth" of this power.

Before we decide to ask the makers to build an axle of this design we shall need to design the brakes and spring seats. It will be recalled they are to save the axle box for us.
