-2- We have also found that the weight of the standard Bentley production piston is now heavier than it was originally. Theoriginal weight of the Piston without rings or gudgeon pin was 18¾ ozs. The pistons now on production are averaging 19¼ ozs. Will you arrange to bring down the weight to the original figure or thereabouts, we know a certain amount of metal was added below the heat break sawcut but this should not increase the weight by more than about ¼ oz. Perhaps you can tell us where the extra weight has been put on, has anything been done to the core, it is rather difficult to determine accurately by measurement the slight differences, because we believe that .010" off the core would result in an increase of approximately 1.0 ozs.
