For the attention of Mr.C.H.Brooks.

Dear Sir,

We shouldlike you to produce some rings for us to the attached sketches Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}189 & Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}190. We shouldlike the rings to have 10 lbs/sq.in. wall pressure and we believe the rings as shown on the drawings couldbe produced giving the required pressure if made from the material you used for compression rings having 21 lbs/sq.in. wall pressure.

The rings to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}190 shouldbe similar in all respects to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}189 with the exception of the minor details shown, they are intended for use with .075" stop, hence the difference in free gaps and closed gap. We shall require 50 rings of each type.

With regard to the individually cast rings you have just supplied along with pistons and to Chevrolet proportions we have found that the closed gap has been excessive and on some rings was as much as .075 we should therefore like in addition to the rings we ordered the other day -

12 Plain compression rings ( individually cast)
12 stepped compression rings ( individually cast)
12 scraper rings ( individually cast)
