Dear Skinner,

We are returning to you herewith the drawing of the piston E.84546 which you left here on Thursday. We believe you took in mistake the drawing of the Aerolite piston, and should be glad to have it back.

With regard to the steel skirt piston which we discussed, we should like to have some idea with regard to the power loss of this piston compared with any pot type piston. As you point out that you have fitted these to engines which have previously had the pot type, some such figures may be available.

With regard to our contribution of £40 towards the dies, we should like to know whether, having contributed £40, we get a set of pistons, or whether the piston price is so much on the top of the £40. How much do you anticipate the experimental pistons will cost each, if produced in batches of 14 ?

We should like you to go ahead provisionally as far as possible with the tooling for the piston E.86632, but should like the additional information as regards costs so that we can get the agreement of our financial people.
