Dear Ward,

Thank you for your letter. Green will have discussed the new Bentley body further during his visit.

I have had various opinions about Perspex. Some people say that, treated with care, it is remarkably good. I think we should get some experience with it. It was of course fitted to the windows in the "Corniche".

I have got a very attractive specification for the chassis, and if you can get 50 lbs. off the weight of the body with lighter luggage grid etc., we shall have a 200 H.P. car for less than 22 cwts., without having sacrificed any of the refinements which customers rightly demand.

I note what you say about the 8-cylinder, but I still think that it would be good policy to keep the engine covered while the car is in the shop.

I am looking forward to our golf match when you come here.
