โ COPY โ To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Bluemels Adjustable Steering Wheel. I saw Messrs. Bluemel's representatives who demonstrated the Bluemel-Douglas adjustable steering wheel, with a model. This model is available for inspection. The fit of the splines seems good and the control of the wheel in any position, also seems good. The adjustable clamp on the model can be replaced if desired by a more permanent clamp if it is desired only to make the adjustment occasionally. The representatives pointed out that even if the clamp comes undone the wheel still drives completely. The worst part seems to be the flat spiral spring cover, the appearance of which may be questioned. They say it may rattle, but this can be overcome by giving it a suitable stiffness. I raised the question of the control tubes. They say they can do this, and have done it on Lanchester, who have, however, one less tube than we have. They propose to submit a scheme for dealing with our controls. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
