X7772 To Wcr. from Oy. c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. Ss.{S. Smith} c. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Srm. Oy6/DM.{D. Munro}12.6.30. L.H. P.II Chassis. ----------------- I referred in Oy1/DM.{D. Munro}12.6.30 to various items of experimental testing which appear to require clearing up for the 200 order. In addition there is the question of the drawings required by America for their coachwork development programme. It is necessary for them to make a number of tentative drawings for bodies on P.II before "cutting any wood" and before they can do much, they need final information on the shape of - Bonnet and Dash. Levers and Instrument board. Rear axle width. These questions are all settled I believe as regards design, but await the completion of the 2nd Experimental car, in order to obtain approval of appearance, etc. The principal item is the new bonnet shape and Mr. Sidgreaves agreed that if this were generally approved on completion of the car we might send the prints which are now held up. Mr. Wheeler tells me the body will be ready early next week. It appears desirable, therefore, to finish up the 2nd Expl. car at the earliest possible moment. Oy. | ||
