NOTES.

During this test the Dunlop artillery wheels ran as follows :-

No.1. 101 hrs. 35 mins.
No.2. 72 hrs. 15 mins.
No.3. 38 hrs.

All proved to be in excellent condition at the conclusion of the test.

Engine suspension.

The failure of the O/S front tube at 74 hrs. 53 mins. was due to the extra strain imposed on this by the fracture of the N/S tube. Both these gave way simultaneously. Examination of the fractures showed [struck through text] the N/S tube to be the oldest.

Dash brackets.

Considerable trouble has been experienced with N/S brackets one having commenced to crack in 6.30 hrs. The last one fitted was welded at the bottom corner and along the bottom angle.

So far this shews no signs of cracking after 13 hrs.

Radiator support stay.

This gave trouble when tightened up too much but has lasted well since being fitted more slackly.

Diagonal stays to sphere.

These have given no trouble during the 148 1/2 hrs. run, the alteration in design proving satisfactory up to date.
