-5- three springs were broken Dunlop artillery wheels replaced the standard wire wheels. These weigh 58½ lbs. without tyres against 43½ lbs. of the wire wheels, an increase of 15 lbs. on each wheel. This probably accounts for the somewhat longer life of the springs fitted during the latter part of the test except the two Woodheads' which broke down rather early. Frame. Fractures of cross member flanges have been fewer than previously, the 3rd. cross member being the only one to fail. The N/S side member fracture started in the bolt hole of the front tie rod bracket. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RB.{R. Bowen} 25.2.25. | ||
