20 HP. DYNAMO P.S.KM. WITH COMBINED POLE AND BRUSH POSITION MODIFICATION.
CONTROL

This dynamo as first received by us was found to be much too high in output at the higher speeds.

Accordingly it was returned to Mr. Brock to have an alteration of 2° made to the control brush position.

On further test it was then found to be a little too low, so we have ourselves retarded the control brush position 1°, and the nett result is that the brush position is retarded 1° from Mr. Brock's original setting. In this condition we consider the machine to represent the limit of what we can pass in the way of an output curve, because the loss of output in the early stages is very considerable.

We will therefore regard this one machine as just passed, but we should not consider that we can pass further machines unless, with the modification, they give a better curve than the present one.

Any further machines for which it is desired to use this modification to overcome noise difficulty should be handed to us for a check of the output.

The machine is being returned to Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}
