To RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}, + 201 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}25/KW.1.11.34. Bentley Front Axle. Some time ago you prepared for us the necessary front axle to move the bottom end of the torque triangle out towards the pivots for tests on judders with wet brakes. This scheme does not permit the car to be steered. Will you please scheme and make parts to move the triangle out as far as possible consistent with steering the car - we do not mind a reduced lock. We suggest that packing the shock absorbers out 2" from the frame will also help. We shall first try this on the road for tramping and then for deflection tests under brake torque.
