Hallam - Head Repairs} X8350 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RnL/LG9.1.28. AXLE RATIOS. X7350 Though we have standardised the 14-tooth axle, we do not recommend that this should be utilised without discretion. Our opinion on axle ratios is as follows :- (a) Cars over 50 cwts. wt. unloaded for Spain, Australia, and British conditions all 14-tooth axles. (b) All cars for the Continent other than Spain, and cars under 50 cwts. unladen for Spain, Australia and Britain 15 tooth axles. (c) EAC.14 standard axle ratio 16-tooth. Special request for super-speed enthusiasts 17-tooth. The whole of these recommendations are subject to modification to meet the requirements of exceptional customers who have a craving for one particular type of performance.
