Dear Sirs,

Re: Dome Type Jacks.
----------

I am sending you under separate cover, three Dome type Jacks - (a) the one I brought back with me the last time I visited you, (b) a similar type, but incorporating a thrust race and (c) one designed for our standard Fishtail handle, also incorporating a thrust race.

With regard to (b) and (c), these are not finished off to quite the same degree as your sample (a), but we can improve the bodies slightly in this respect and still confine it to a commercial proposition. The handles and pinion wheels are nickel plated, which we consider has better wearing propensities than cadmium plating.

We have also incorporated 15" wooden cross handles which are a little rough and can be improved.

We had considered supplying a black enamelled handle but this would add 3d. or 4d. more to the cost and be somewhat difficult to obtain.

I have also forwarded to you ( with the Jacks) a base plate with a toe fore and aft, which can be supplied at no extra charge and which you will no doubt consider an improvement on the single toe fitted to the Jacks.

It will be noted that the incorporation of the thrust race has reduced the amount of lift by approximately a ¼", but this does not affect the maximum height of the new jack as compared with the old type, to any extent owing to it being compensated for by the base plate.

Continued.
