I am sending you herewith two blueprints of F.53332. These springs are the new 38" type, having a dimension of 18" from the centre of the spring to the centre of the front eye, and 20" from the centre of the spring to the centre of the rear eye.

Will you please order up at once six pairs of the above springs,as follows:-

Two pairs 550 lbs.
" " 600 "
" " 650 "

These springs when delivered should be handed over to the Experimental Dept.

I cannot definitely order more than these at the moment, as I am awaiting a reply to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from R.{Sir Henry Royce}

It will be noted that we have again shown the narrow width of clip.

I think Messrs Woodheads should make a move to get us this width of clip, as the width of clip they show is entirely wrong from a design point of view. The discrepancy is much worse on the 20 HP. than on the 40/50 HP.

I think we should write direct to Messrs Woodheads on the subject and do our best to get Mr.Royce's width of clip seriously taken in hand for these further proposals.

Possibly Messrs Woodhead would agree to us making the clips ourselves, or at least making forgings of them and supplying the forgings to Messrs Woodhead.

Anyway, I shall leave the whole of the negotiations and how the matter is tackled in your hands, but something certainly ought to be done.
