ORIGINAL HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M2.11.31. C. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} HN.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} 25HP. SPECIAL TOURING SALOON FOR R.{Sir Henry Royce} x 5992. We thank you for HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LID{A. J. Lidsey}1/KT281031., and note that you have made arrangements for the 18" rims, for which many thanks. With respect to the instruments we are aware that the cost will be increased by the use of Venetian cream dials, but the aspects of the case are such that on this particular car we cannot have black dials. The colour scheme which has been agreed to by Sales will not permit of their use. There is no black on the interior of the car at all, and since these are going on to a green instrument board and will have green flanges we must have Venetian cream dials. A further point is that since this car is ostensibly for R.{Sir Henry Royce}, and he will no doubt use it for a time, he will be the better pleased with Venetian cream dials. We would be glad therefore if you would arrange to obtain the necessary dials so that they may be changed probably when you receive the car in Derby. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} By/MTN is ordering the necessary instruments for this car. | ||
