Nature of Complaint. | No. of Cars. | Last Qtr's. Total. | Remarks.

Piston Knocks and Seizure. | W. 3. N. 7. P. 1. Total 11. | 13. | This is caused by insufficient oil for starting purposes, and leaving the starter carburetter working too long. An extra oil supply which operates when the engine is started up has been designed. It is advisable to get out a similar scheme for Phantom I from F2B series onwards. No progress has been made.

Springing Complaints | W. 21. N. 13. P. 5. Total 39. | 76. | See Depot Sheet Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}136.

Servo Jaggers. | W. 2. N. 10. P. 2. Total 14. | 18. | On early Phantoms a rubber block is fitted to provide a damping device on the servo shaft. On later cars and present production a flat spring plate is standardised. Also, a friction device to the swinging arm can now be fitted to the older cars.

Tappets Noisy. | W. 6. N. 7. P. 2. Total 15. | 22. | The grooved bushes for improved lubrication scheme are satisfactory and cure complaints, and are standard on present production.
