X.4428 X1559 (crossed out) POLICY (crossed out) & ref 20 brakes PN.{Mr Northey} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. to HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} c. to Rg.{Mr Rowledge} Hsl/LG5.11.21. RE PURCHASE OF CARS SIMILAR TO GOSHAWK. X.4219 X.4428 Attached herewith is a list of cars being shown at "Olympia" of approximately the same size as Goshawk 11. Those which we consider are of special interest, we have marked. In order to obtain a car with 4 wheel braking and also a car which will closely resemble the Goshawk, it may be necessary to recommend the purchase of two cars. We think this would be preferable than obtaining one which was a compromise. R.{Sir Henry Royce} in his latest memo. of four wheel braking suggested that he is considering similar front brakes to those fitted to the Hotchkiss Car. We think that we should all meet at the Rolls-Royce Rooms in Kensington Crescent on Friday 11th. inst. at 1 p.m. We are writing to London to see if we can get Lunch there so that the different cars can be discussed and that we might go into the Show in the afternoon and finally decide.
