RE BODY FOR "GOSHAWK II". X180

Thank you for your telegram saying that bodies can be built with runner outside frame, and that the board on which the seat rests can rest on the top of the frame. This will give ample thickness for cushions and springs, and a seat when compressed to 10" or less in height.

Under these conditions we should get a body which is low, and yet there would be ample height of body above the seats. This is what I am aiming at, so that one feels "in" the car and not "on" the car.

I understand that the two open bodies made by Mulliners have been spoilt because Derby has sent coarse dimensions.

What I cannot understand is how these bodies were made different from our West WitteringHenry Royce's home town drawings, without calling W.W.'s attention to the fact.

It suggests that in future standard coachbuilders' drawings should be signed by Mr. Bailey, and standardisation sheets obtained.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
