20 HP. CHASSIS. SPARKING PLUGS.

Whilst we are carrying on with the present type standard K.L.G. Plug, it will be necessary for us to have a number of Plugs with the increased length of skirt on the insulation, which represents the improved form that the K.L.G. are now recommending.

The type is known as the K.1.R. K.L.G.

The Order Office should order up at once say 500 plugs of this type, of which 24 would be handed to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and the balance to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}

If in checking these on test during the testing operation, they continue to be satisfactory during the whole of the test, I have no objection to cars being sent away with same, but under these circumstances the spares should be of the same type.

The Order Office should note that this only represents our usual method of having an extended trial plug on test, and only with customers when satisfactory, before fairly launching ourselves on a new type.

Will Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} issue a Standardization Sheet at once to cover us on the use of the 500 plugs pro.tem. as an extended test.

The foregoing is the result of EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}'s extended testing of this type of plug, of which a number were supplied to us some little time ago. The results were so eminently satisfactory that we feel justified in making the extended test given above, and asking for a Standardization Sheet to cover us for this purpose.
