21. CARBURETTERS.
There is a general tendency for these to give trouble with flooding. Trouble has also been experienced with the air valve sticking.
Carburation has also been found to be at fault due to the variation in the length of the air valve spring. R.{Sir Henry Royce} has suggested a different method of fixing this spring, which should overcome this trouble and which is in hand.
We have had experience of float feed covers working loose.
The question of petrol flooding on to the exhaust pipe has been raised from a safety point of view.

22. AUTOVAC.
Intermittent starvation, causing poor slow running.
Noise when working.
A general request for a drain from the Autovac.

23. WATER PUMP DRIVE - failure due to slipping.
Action was taken some time ago to make sure by definite test that the drive was properly fixed. The question has been raised whether a slipping drive at this point is necessary.

24. PETROL SYSTEM FAILURES.
Choking of the jets.
Choking of the carburetter filter.
Water in the carburetter and petrol system generally.
Requests for a filter to the inlet of the petrol tank, or a drain trap in the system.
We have also had a complaint of the filter dropping out, causing stoppage on the road.

25. GEARBOX FABRIC COUPLING.
Fixing bolts becoming loose.
Signs of the fabric beginning to fray externally.

26. FUMES IN THE BODY.
This seems to be as prevalent as with the "Silver Ghost" except that it does not seem so bad with the cutout open.

27. GEAR BOXES.
Noise from the side shaft running light.
These complaints have been chiefly due to the noise when starting up cold, gear boxes in this respect being quite satisfactory when running under normal heat conditions.
