(3) ..12. ENGINE MOANS. (Refer Engine Gears). 13. THUD IN ENGINE. We have had no experience of this as far as I know, unless it comes under the heading of "thrashing". (See Engine gears) 14. CLUTCH NOT STOPPING. (Refer Clutch). 15. DYNAMO. The variation in the output of the dynamo on different cars is a point which has been raised on various occasions. Noise from Dynamo (Refer Engine Gears). 16. SELF STARTER. I do not know of any complaints in this respect other than the accumulators or electrical system being in faulty condition. 17. ACCELERATOR PEDAL. The chief complaint of this has been its awkwardness to manipulate. Complaints of sticking have been due to faulty fitting floorboards or to the throttle or governor mechanism (Refer Governor Control). Complaint has also been made that the throttle opening appears to be more sudden on this car than on the 'Silver Ghost.' 18. REAR AXLE - noisy. I do not know of any complaints of this, other than those due to tyres, setting up a general noise, or causing the "Pomeroy Burton Groan", which is aggravated by the fitting of disc wheels, close fitting wings, or boomy bodies etc. 19. STEERING STIFF. (Refer steering). 20. DETONATIONS. This occurs when the car has not been used for some time, especially if inferior petrol is used. Engine continuing to fire after switching off.
