For the attention of Mr. Hives
Dear Sirs,
We thank you for your letters of August 15th, 16th, & 21st, with reference to KR4 and KR5 experimental sparking plugs, and we are much obliged for the information you give.
We have carefully examined and tested the 5 KR5 and 3 KR4 plugs, and find that they are in good order with respect to gas-tightness, indicating that this method of construction is sound, but although some of these plugs have run a considerable time yet we think that the result indicates that copper is not a suitable material for the centre pins. We shall be interested to know whether you have run the K.L.G. Model CB plugs for as long a time as these plugs and under similar conditions, and if so whether you find the copper deteriorates after a certain time.
We shall be glad to hear in due course
