File x5005 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} c. to Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/MS. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Les.13/MJ.8.8.34. ENGINE MOUNTING RUBBER. Will you please arrange that when rubbers are required with steel inserts, the inserts are supplied by the manufacturers of the rubbers. For example - for 25 Hp. cars, the inserts F.60400/1/2 and F.60411 will be bought with the rubbers F.60398/9 complete. There is shown on the drawing of F.60399 rubber on the outside diameter of the steel inserts F.60401/2. This makes it practically impossible to mould the rubber direct on to the steel insert, as there is no location for the washer. Will you please arrange for the outside diameter of the inserts to be increased to that of the rubber. Similar rubbers on Ph.II, SpectreCodename for Phantom III, and Bentley should be treated likewise. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ I.A.Leslie. | ||
