No. K29122 K3000 REF. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/VHL/T27.11.26. OBJECT OF TEST. Endurance tests on wet liner engine. TESTER. V.{VIENNA} Halliwell. CONDITIONS. 4th Falcon X. High compression pistons (Y alloy E.28780). Silchrome valves E.28651 (Strengthened tulip). Wet liners, schemes A & B (Lec.2301) as before, 20% Benzol. "P.2" lubricating oil. SUMMARY OF TEST. We have completed a further 10 hours endurance run at 9/10ths. rated power. Engine was opened up to full throttle for the last five mins. and a loss of 22 C/BHP. was recorded since the commencement of the run. At this point one of the strengthened type inlet rockers E.28756 fitted to A block previous to the run, was fractured. (Cyl.A.1.) An inner spring on No.1 inlet valve (A side) was found fractured when an examination was made. No internal water leaks have developed. Oil consumption for the run = 5 pts/hour.
