Referring to the second paragraph of your letter of the 23rd, although, as mentioned above, the steering gear is assembled ready for despatch, in accordance with the instructions of Commdr. Matravers we have today dismantled for further examination of the roller pin, and instructions have been issued to our Works that they are to assure themselves that the fixing of the pin to the Rocker Shaft is perfectly satisfactory, and that there will be no fear of the pin rotating in the Rocker Shaft itself. We trust that you will pass along to us a drawing of the Drop Arm, and also give us your views with regard to the forging we have here for serrating on the lines of our communication as given above.
