V3179 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/KT. February 28th 1933. The Autovac Manufacturing Co, Ltd, Heaton Norris, Stockport. Dear Sirs, We have had a certain amount of trouble with the small conical gauze filter on the top of the autovac choking up. In our opinion this filter has insufficient area to be of much practical use, as if there is any quantity of foreign matter in the fuel line it is bound to get choked up in a short period of time. We should like to know whether there is any objection in deleting this filter. Alternatively, have you any designs which permit of larger area? Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
